S3. 3 ways to practice positive body image
  1. Use Positive Affirmations
    Combat negative self-talk by writing down qualities about yourself that aren’t related to appearance or weight. Place these affirmations near your mirror and say them daily. Examples include: I am happy to be me, My worth is not defined by my appearance, and I will cherish my body as it changes.
  2. See Yourself as a Whole Person
    Focus on qualities beyond physical appearance, such as being a good friend or kind individual. Write these down as reminders of your value, especially when you’re feeling low.
  3. Surround Yourself with Positivity
    Spend time with people who uplift and encourage you. Be mindful of social media—unfollow accounts that negatively affect your self-esteem and follow those that inspire and promote positivity.
